THE WHAT? Following its planned change to its corporate governance structure, Shiseido has nominated candidates for the Board of Directors and Corporate Executive Officers to be voted upon at its AGM in March, 2024.

THE DETAILS Takeshi Yoshida and Hiromi Anno have been nominated as Directors, while Hiroshi Ozu, Yasuko Gotoh and Ritsuke Nonomiya will become External Directors (subject to approval). Masahiko Uotani’s role will be adjusted to Director, Representative Corporate Executive Officer, Chairman and CEO while Kentaro Fujiwara will have his title tweaked to Director Representative Corporate Executive Officer, President and COO.

THE WHY? The J-beauty behemoth is transitioning to a company with three statutory committees as part of a wider drive for profitability and sustainable growth.
