Two Barcelona-based companies, Pujolasos wood & pack, a producer of wood packaging for luxury goods, and Decopak Europ, a company specialising in product surface decoration, have teamed up to launch a newly-patented “metallised wooden cap.”

Showcased at the latest edition of the Paris PCD Congress, the ‘Luxury Wood’ is a range of metallised wooden caps for perfumes and cosmetic products.

The launch of the product is the outcome of research carried out by Pujolasos wood & pack in recent years and Decopak Europ’s continued investment in R&D. The goal of the two companies was to develop a technique that could add sophistication to wood while preserving its natural grain.

A spokesperson for Pujolasos explained, “The elegant, distinguishing hue is achieved using a metallized varnish, and comes in a wide range of colours and tones. The product can also have a matte or shiny finish, with metallic features added, with graded colours and personalised decoration. To guarantee the resistance of all the finishes, they have undergone the most rigorous quality control tests.”
